Bernhardt on Broadway
Bernhardt on Broadway” is a one-woman musical with twelve showstopping songs about the Divine Sarah Bernhardt. The play is set in the late 1890s when Bernhardt was at the height of her career. She addresses the audience in a relaxed and forthright way, talking about her present and reminiscing about her past – personally and professionally. Carol Dunitz, who wrote the music, script, and lyrics for the show, read over eighty books as well as countless articles before starting work on ‘Bernhardt on Broadway.’ Her extensive research ensures the audience gains a thorough understanding of this eccentric star and what motivated her to persist, quand meme, against all odds.
The Magic Flute
The Des Moines Metro Opera performs one of Mozart's most popular operas in English with piano accompaniment. Mozart's delightful commentary on love, forgiveness, tolerance and the brotherhood of mankind has become one of the most beloved operas in all the repertory.
NISOM Presents ~ String Fever
These four world class musicians have put together a truly original show featuring five and six stringed electric violins, called violectras, a viola, and a cello. Some of the unique features of the show include Stringfever’s acclaimed version of “Bolero,” with all four members of the group playing one cello at the same time. At one point, the audience is challenged to a rousing game of name that tune, trying to guess 20 of the most popular film theme songs, including a rousing rendition of a “007, James Bond medley.” The fantastic culmination of the show is the group’s signature finale, “The History of Music . . . in 5 minutes.”

Ghosts of the Grand
Many say the Grand is haunted. Paranormal groups confirm the fact that there IS a ghostly presense in the 122 year old theatre. Illusionist & Author Craig Beytien has written a show that's certain to bring chills and laughter as we recreate paranormal events from our historic past with Sarah Bernhardt, Al Jolson, John Phillip Sousa, and others. This is a family friendly Halloween season fun!!
Christmas Schooner
Based on the trus story of the Rouse Simmons, a Great Lake Schooner whose captain risks life and limb to transport fir trees from Michigan's upper Peninsula to Chicago's German immigrants during the late 19th century. A holiday classic produced by The Main Street Players for The Grand.
